The discovery of a bronze figurine of Mars and iron weapons suggests that the temple was frequented by Roman soldiers. However, a large number of terracotta figurines, perhaps representing Venus and mother goddesses, were also found nearby. The sanctuary was used until the fifth century AD and was abandoned for unknown reasons.
