Archaeologists have discovered a 4,000-year-old sanctuary in Tiel, Netherlands, made of burial mounds and ancient offerings of human and animal bones that has similarities to Stonehenge. The site tracked the position of the sun on the solstices and was a significant place for performing rituals and burying the dead. The site has previously yielded significant archaeological finds, including the oldest bead ever found in the Netherlands, which proved that the region was in contact with far-flung civilizations.
