Measles Case Confirmed at Las Vegas Strip, Raises Concerns
A case of measles has been confirmed on the Las Vegas Strip, with potential exposure at several locations including the MGM Grand resort and the airport. Health officials warn that the virus is highly contagious and can live in the air for up to two hours, with symptoms appearing within seven to 21 days after exposure. This comes amid an increase in measles cases globally and in the U.S., prompting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to issue a lab advisory. The Southern Nevada Health District advises anyone with symptoms to contact a healthcare provider before entering a healthcare facility to prevent the spread of the illness.
