The alert follows a report of a child in Montgomery County being infected with measles. Symptoms typically include fever, runny nose, cough, and a rash, and the disease can be serious, even fatal, especially for young children. Health officials recommend the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccination to prevent infection. Similar warnings were also issued at airports in Washington, D.C.
