Comparing iPhone 15 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5/Flip5 5G Performance in 12 Countries

According to a new report by Ookla, the iPhone 15 lineup, including the iPhone 15 Pro Max, has been found to have the fastest 5G performance in 12 out of 13 countries surveyed. Factors such as government and mobile operator investments, spectrum allocations, and mobile 5G plans contribute to the variations in 5G performance. In the US, the iPhone 15 Pro Max achieved a median 5G download speed of 285.02 Mbps, while in Canada it reached 217.35 Mbps. The iPhone 15 also topped the rankings in Brazil, except in the Philippines where the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 narrowly beat the iPhone 15 Pro.

The University of Michigan and Michigan State University have been ranked among the top 150 universities in the world, according to the QS World University Rankings. The University of Michigan is ranked No. 33 globally and remains one of the top American public universities, while Michigan State University is ranked No. 136. The rankings consider factors such as employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, research citations, international faculty and student proportion, sustainability, employment outcomes, and international network. Other Michigan universities, including Michigan Technological University, Western Michigan University, and Central Michigan University, also appeared on the rankings.

"Vienna retains title of most liveable city in 2023, while Canada dominates Top 10 list."

The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has released its Global Liveability Index 2023, ranking 173 cities across five categories: stability, healthcare, education, culture and the environment, and infrastructure. The report highlights the best and worst cities to live in, as well as a return to order after the COVID-19 pandemic and improvements in liveability in developing countries. The war in Ukraine and resulting economic and political disruptions continue to affect liveability. The index measures cities based on more than 30 indicators and provides an overall score and score for each category.

Global Military Spending Reaches Record High, Saudi Arabia Among Top 5 Spenders.

Saudi Arabia has become the world's fifth-largest military spender, surpassing the UK, Germany, and France, according to a report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). The kingdom's military spending increased by 16% to reach an estimated $75bn, contributing to the Middle East's total military expenditure of $184bn in 2022. The region had the highest military burden, with spending making up 3.9% of GDP on average. The US, China, and Russia were the top three global military spenders, accounting for nearly 56% of global military spending.

Chicago's O'Hare International Airport has been ranked as the fourth busiest airport in the world by the Airports Council International, with Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson retaining its position as the busiest airport. The rankings were reshuffled due to the pandemic, with Dallas-Fort Worth and Denver taking the second and third spots respectively.
