The first flakes of the season are expected to fall in Rochester, New York, with a chance of rain showers on Halloween night. Google has launched a new weather app for its Pixel tablets, which offers a much nicer design and more detailed information than the previous basic screen. The app provides 10-day and 24-hour forecasts, wind, humidity, barometric pressure, and UV index reports, as well as current sun position and sunrise/sunset times. It also shows details for precipitation, wind, and humidity broken down by the hour. The app uses data provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and other sources to provide immediately upcoming precipitation information up to 12 hours in advance. However, the app does not have a radar view, and there is no app icon to launch the weather app.
Richmond, Virginia will experience some areas of fog/drizzle overnight with the chance of a shower or two. Saturday will be partly sunny with just the chance of scattered storms, mainly later in the afternoon. Rain chances will be pretty low on Sunday, but a few isolated storms are possible. Tropical Storm Bret is in the eastern Caribbean, while Tropical Storm Cindy will go north of the Lesser Antilles and gradually weaken before curving away from the Bahamas and United States.

The new design is information-dense, with new and more skeuomorphic iconography for all weather conditions, plus new graphs and visuals for precipitation, wind, and humidity, and also new and animated gauges for wind, humidity, UV index, and pressure. The new Google Weather app adds a lot of extra information that wasn’t previously accessible via the old interface, including the hourly forecast for all 10 days, not just today and tomorrow.
