US backs USA Rare Earth with $1.6B investment for 10% stake to boost domestic minerals
The Financial Times reports the United States will invest $1.6 billion for a 10% stake in Oklahoma-based USA Rare Earth (16.1 million shares plus warrants for 17.6 million at $17.17) and pair it with a separate $1 billion private financing, as part of a broader push to onshore critical minerals for the semiconductor supply chain. The deal would support USA Rare Earth's Sierra Blanca, Texas mine and Stillwater, Oklahoma magnet facility with first-half 2026 commercial operation targeted; Cantor Fitzgerald is leading the fundraising.
