A major analysis of 55 studies involving nearly 1000 women has found that exercising during menstruation does not affect performance at the gym. The study debunks the popular fitness trend of cycle syncing, which revolves around adjusting diet and exercise routines based on the menstrual cycle. The researchers concluded that there is no scientific evidence to support the practice of cycle syncing and emphasized the significant variations in estrogen and progesterone levels between women and even within an individual's menstrual cycle. While exercise during menstruation may alleviate menstrual cramps and reduce PMS symptoms, the study highlights the importance of individualized approaches to fitness.
