UK Faces Rising Tuberculosis Cases Amid Health Warnings
Tuberculosis (TB), a serious lung infection known as the 'Victorian disease,' is on the rise in England, with cases increasing by 11% to 5,000 by the end of last year, according to the UK Health Security Agency. The majority of new cases are among people born outside the UK, particularly from India, Pakistan, Nigeria, and Romania. Health officials urge awareness of TB symptoms, which can be mistaken for common winter illnesses, as drug-resistant strains are also increasing. TB is curable and preventable, but remains a significant public health issue.
