"U.K. Launches Urgent Childhood Vaccination Campaign Amid Measles Surge"

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has launched a multimedia campaign featuring children's voices to remind parents in England of the risks of diseases like measles if vaccinations are missed, as measles cases have been rising since late last year due to a fall in childhood vaccination uptake during the pandemic. The campaign urges parents to ensure their children have had two doses of the MMR vaccine and all other necessary jabs, as only 85% of children starting primary school in the UK have had both MMR jabs, well below the 95% target needed to prevent the spread of measles. The campaign will be supported by community leaders in inner-city areas, and health officials have already started contacting over four million parents, carers, and young adults to inform them about missed vaccinations.
