
Severe Storms Wreak Havoc in Upstate NY with Hail and Strong Winds
Upstate New York faces an "enhanced risk" of severe thunderstorms today, with a 30% or greater chance of damaging storms. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe thunderstorm watch from Buffalo to Utica until 6 p.m. Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop by late morning and move eastward, potentially bringing severe gusts. A heat advisory remains in effect, with the heat index possibly reaching the upper 90s.
