A new study published in Frontiers in Psychology suggests that mindfulness meditation and psychedelic use may have positive impacts on leadership development in the workplace. The research, which aimed to address the lack of empirical data on the effects of these interventions, found that a significant portion of participants who held management positions reported trying mindfulness meditation (43.6%) and psychedelics (17.7%). Responses indicated that both practices had positive impacts on leadership, including improved wellbeing, increased presence and awareness, enhanced creativity and productivity, and improved interpersonal attitudes. While the study has limitations, the findings suggest that combining mindfulness meditation and psychedelics in training programs could potentially improve leadership outcomes.

A study conducted by researchers at Shenzhen University in China suggests that mindfulness meditation may help mitigate the adverse effects of fatigue on emotional processing. The study involved 145 participants who were randomly assigned to either a mindfulness meditation group or a resting group. The researchers measured event-related potentials (ERPs) in the participants' brains while they completed an image processing task. The results showed that participants in the mindfulness meditation group had improved responsiveness to emotional stimuli compared to those in the resting group, indicating that mindfulness meditation may offset the negative association between fatigue and emotional processing. Further research is needed to explore this topic using different methods and measures of fatigue.

Interoception, our ability to perceive internal bodily states, is a fundamental part of our conscious experiences and has been a focal point in neuroscience research in recent years. The insular cortex plays a key role in interoceptive processing, which influences our emotions, decision-making, and sense of self. Impaired interoception is associated with several mental health disorders, including depression and eating disorders. Enhancing interoceptive awareness, such as through mindfulness meditation, may serve as a potential therapeutic strategy for these conditions.

While there is not much research showing that photo filters negatively impact adults' mental health, there is cause for concern, especially for teen girls who are already vulnerable to depression, anxiety, and body-image troubles. Heavy use of social media during early adolescence may be correlated with lower life-satisfaction ratings one year later. Photo filters can exacerbate psychological conditions such as body dysmorphic disorder. Practicing mindfulness meditation is one way to build self-compassion and fortify oneself against the harmful effects of social media and beauty filters.
