Paleontologists have identified a new species of herbivorous dinosaur, Ahshislesaurus wimani, from the Late Cretaceous period in New Mexico, expanding understanding of hadrosaurid diversity and distribution during that era.

Scientists have discovered the remains of a previously unknown duck-billed herbivorous dinosaur in Chile, which they have named Gonkoken nanoi. The dinosaur is thought to have lived in the southern part of Chilean Patagonia around 72 million years ago. The discovery shows that Chilean Patagonia served as a refuge for very ancient species of hadrosaurs, a type of duck-billed dinosaur which was commonly found in North America, Asia and Europe during the Cretaceous period.
