NASA and SpaceX Prepare for CRS-33 Cargo Launch to the ISS

NASA and SpaceX are launching CRS-33, a cargo resupply mission to the ISS featuring a Dragon spacecraft with a new propulsion system in its trunk to boost the station's orbit, helping to sustain its altitude and reduce workload on other vehicles. The mission includes over 5,000 pounds of supplies and scientific experiments, and marks the first long-duration mission with this new boost capability, which will inform future space station operations and deorbit plans.

SpaceX Prepares for Cargo Launch and Dragon Redocking at ISS

SpaceX is set to launch a Falcon 9 rocket carrying nearly 6,000 pounds of supplies to the International Space Station (ISS) on November 4, 2023. The launch, part of SpaceX's 31st robotic resupply mission for NASA, will include food, equipment, and scientific experiments such as the Coronal Diagnostic Experiment and Antarctic moss studies. The uncrewed Cargo Dragon capsule is expected to dock with the ISS on November 5. This mission continues a busy year for SpaceX, which has already launched over 100 missions in 2024, primarily for its Starlink project.

"SpaceX's 30th Dragon Cargo Mission Successfully Launches to ISS"

A cargo Dragon spacecraft successfully launched to the International Space Station from Cape Canaveral's Space Launch Complex 40, carrying 2,841 kilograms of cargo for the CRS-30 mission, just hours after a rare last-minute abort of a Russian Soyuz spacecraft launch to the station. The launch marks the first time the current version of Dragon has launched from SLC-40, following the completion of a new crew access tower at the pad, providing redundancy and alleviating congestion at the pads.

"SpaceX's 30th Resupply Mission Marks Milestone with New Access Tower at SLC-40"

SpaceX's upcoming 30th cargo resupply mission to the International Space Station will mark the first use of a new access tower at Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) in Florida, allowing a Dragon 2 capsule to lift off atop a Falcon 9 rocket. The mission, CRS-30, is scheduled for Thursday, March 21 and will carry over 6,000 pounds of payloads, including food, supplies, and equipment for the ISS crew, as well as more than 40 science investigations. The new access arm will enable late-loading of supplies, and the mission will also validate the tower for future crewed flights. Additionally, the payloads include experiments involving Astrobee robots, plant metabolism in space, sea ice and wave height measurement, nanoparticle solar cells, and more.

"SpaceX Wraps Up 28th ISS Resupply Mission and Cargo Craft Departure"

SpaceX's Cargo Dragon capsule successfully completed its 28th commercial resupply mission to the International Space Station (ISS). The mission, known as CRS-28, delivered tons of supplies, experiments, and hardware to the ISS, including solar arrays for increased power. After undocking from the ISS, the capsule splashed down off the coast of Florida and time-sensitive experiments were flown back to Kennedy Space Center. This mission marked the 8th under Phase 2 of SpaceX's commercial resupply contract with NASA. With other companies facing delays and issues, SpaceX remains the primary provider of supplies and transportation to the ISS.

SpaceX's Cargo Dragon successfully delivers vital supplies to space station.

SpaceX's Cargo Dragon spacecraft successfully docked at the International Space Station carrying 7,000 pounds of supplies and equipment, including two add-on roll-out solar blankets. The two new ISS roll-out solar array blankets will be installed during a spacewalk on Friday and next Thursday. NASA is adding six IROSAs to the existing power system to provide the power needed to support agency-sponsored research, anticipated commercial activity, and the addition of one-or-more commercial modules between now and the station’s retirement at the end of the decade.
