A boil water notice has been issued for Des Moines and part of Normandy Park in King County, Washington after E. coli bacteria was found in the water supply. The King County Water District #54 has advised residents to boil their water for at least a minute before drinking it. The district has begun chlorinating the water systems to kill the bacteria, but this may cause unpleasant effects such as cloudy or brown looking water due to mineral build up inside the pipes. The district will update the public when the boil order is lifted.
