
Snow Leopard Attack on Tourist Highlights Wildlife Safety at Chinese Ski Resort
A tourist was mauled by a snow leopard at a ski resort in Keketuohai Geopark, China, after approaching within about three meters to photograph the animal. A ski instructor drove the leopard away with ski poles; the woman was hospitalized and listed in stable condition. Authorities are increasing safety patrols and urging visitors to keep a distance from wildlife, noting snow leopards are rare and highly protected in China.
