"NASA's Starliner Spacecraft Set to Carry Astronauts to ISS in April"

NASA's Boeing CST-100 Starliner spacecraft is set to embark on its first crewed test flight to the International Space Station (ISS) in April, with astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams on board. The spacecraft has undergone significant progress in resolving technical issues, including successful parachute system tests and removal of flammability risks. Mission support teams have also completed a dress rehearsal for the crew's return to Earth. The Starliner will launch from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and spend up to two weeks at the ISS before returning to land in the southwest United States.

"NASA's Starliner Set for Historic Crewed Mission to International Space Station"

NASA announces that the Boeing CST-100 Starliner spacecraft will conduct its first crewed test flight to the International Space Station (ISS) in April, following progress in resolving technical issues. The spacecraft recently completed a successful parachute system drop test and removed flammability risk material from its crew module. Mission support teams also completed a dress rehearsal for the recovery crew, and the team is preparing for the launch from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, carrying astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams to the ISS for up to two weeks before returning to Earth.

Boeing's Starliner spacecraft faces further delays as first crewed flight pushed to 2024

The first piloted launch of Boeing's Starliner spacecraft is now expected to take place in early March at the earliest, due to ongoing work to test and replace the capsule's parachute system and address issues with a flammable adhesive used in protective electrical tape. The specific launch date will depend on various factors, including space station crew and cargo schedules. Assuming the mission goes smoothly, Boeing could be certified for operational space station crew rotation missions by the end of 2024. Despite the delays, Boeing remains committed to the Starliner program.

Boeing's Starliner astronaut mission faces more delays due to issues.

Boeing has further delayed the first crewed launch of its Starliner spacecraft after discovering additional issues with the capsule, including problems with the safety of its parachute systems and a flammable type of tape. The company has won nearly $5 billion in contracts to build the capsule under NASA's Commercial Crew Program, but has fallen behind SpaceX in the race to launch NASA astronauts. Due to the delays, Boeing has accrued $833 million in losses over more than two years on the Starliner program.

Boeing's Starliner crewed mission to ISS delayed multiple times.

Boeing's first crewed mission to the International Space Station (ISS) using its Starliner spacecraft has been delayed again and is now expected to launch on July 21 at the earliest. The delay is due to the need for further assessment of the capsule and to avoid conflicts with upcoming flights scheduled to the ISS. Boeing's Crew Flight Test mission has suffered repeated setbacks and was originally slated to fly in April. The company is paying close attention to the parachute system on the Starliner deployed to land the spacecraft safely back on Earth.

Boeing's Starliner launch delayed again for parachute and certification issues.

NASA and Boeing have delayed the first crewed flight of the Starliner spacecraft to no earlier than July 21 due to the extra time needed to close out the pre-flight review process of Starliner and also due to traffic from other vehicles visiting the space station in June and the first half of July. The delay is also due to the certification products for the parachute system, which is the final test to be completed on the ground. This will be the third flight of Boeing's Starliner spacecraft.
