India Successfully Tests Parachutes for Gaganyaan Mission Using Rocket Sled

India's Gaganyaan mission, which aims to send three astronauts to low Earth orbit, conducted drogue parachute deployment tests using a rocket sled. The drogue parachutes are crucial for stabilizing the Gaganyaan crew module and reducing its velocity during reentry. The successful tests pave the way for a high-altitude abort test in September or October. The Gaganyaan mission also includes uncrewed flights to validate technology and ensure the safety of the modified Launch Vehicle Mark-3 rocket. If all goes according to plan, the first crewed Gaganyaan flight could launch as early as late 2024.

Boeing's Starliner spacecraft faces further delays as first crewed flight pushed to 2024

The first piloted launch of Boeing's Starliner spacecraft is now expected to take place in early March at the earliest, due to ongoing work to test and replace the capsule's parachute system and address issues with a flammable adhesive used in protective electrical tape. The specific launch date will depend on various factors, including space station crew and cargo schedules. Assuming the mission goes smoothly, Boeing could be certified for operational space station crew rotation missions by the end of 2024. Despite the delays, Boeing remains committed to the Starliner program.

Boeing's Starliner launch delayed again for parachute and certification issues.

NASA and Boeing have delayed the first crewed flight of the Starliner spacecraft to no earlier than July 21 due to the extra time needed to close out the pre-flight review process of Starliner and also due to traffic from other vehicles visiting the space station in June and the first half of July. The delay is also due to the certification products for the parachute system, which is the final test to be completed on the ground. This will be the third flight of Boeing's Starliner spacecraft.

2023 Dodge Challenger Demon 170: Speed and Safety Features Unveiled.

The Dodge Challenger Demon 170 will soon have a range of Direct Connection parts available, including a parachute mounting system, a harness bar, a street wheel/tire package, and a carbon fiber rear seat delete insert. The National Hot Rod Association requires any car built after 2014 that runs under a nine-second quarter mile to have a parachute. The street wheel/tire package is necessary because the Demon's slick tires with soft sidewalls designed for maximum traction on a prepped surface are not suitable for daily driving. Production of the most powerful Challenger ever will be limited to just 3,000 units in the United States and 300 in Canada.
