The Link Between Sleep Quality and Dementia Risk
A study published in the journal Neurology suggests that people with irregular sleep patterns may have a higher risk of developing dementia. Researchers analyzed the sleep data of over 88,000 participants and found that those with the most irregular sleep had the highest risk of dementia. The study highlights the importance of maintaining regular sleep schedules, in addition to getting the recommended amount of sleep. However, the research does not prove that sleep irregularity causes dementia, only that there is an association. Further research is needed to confirm these findings.
