Amateur detectorist strikes gold with massive finds in Australia and South Africa.

An amateur gold digger found a 4.6-kilogram gold nugget worth $160,000 in Victoria, Australia. The rock was discovered in an area known as the "Golden Triangle" and was taken to prospecting shop Lucky Strike Gold, where it was valued by owner Darren Kamp. The gold-filled rock weighs 2.6 kilograms, and Kamp said he has "never seen a rock of this size with that amount of gold in it." The prospector used a Minelab Equinox 800 detector costing $800.
