Despite the easing of the pandemic, Americans are spending more than ever on delivery services, with the average customer now spending $407 per month, up from $157 per month in 2021. Millennials are spending the most, while boomers spend the least. Convenience is the main driver behind the rise in on-demand deliveries, with consumers willing to pay a premium for saving time and effort. Delivery fees, service fees, and tips make up a significant portion of food delivery costs, with customers spending an average of $1,850 per year on delivered food. The market for online food delivery is projected to reach $484 billion by 2032. Remote workers, who now make up 30% of the American workforce, are helping sustain the delivery business by incorporating delivery services into their routines.
