Selina Ferragamo, a 28-year-old woman from New York, has been diagnosed with hidradenitis suppurativa, a rare and painful inflammatory skin condition that causes boil-like bumps to break out all over her body. Despite altering her diet, undergoing surgeries, and taking medication, there is currently no cure for the condition. Ferragamo faces cruel comments from others who mistake her condition for herpes or skin mites, leading to feelings of depression and anxiety. She is working to raise awareness for the condition and urges fellow sufferers to seek proper diagnosis and not blame themselves for the uncontrollable disease.
