"Surge in Atrial Fibrillation: Heart Failure Emerges as Top Complication"
A new study reveals that the risk of heart failure from atrial fibrillation is more worrisome than the risk of stroke, with a lifetime risk of heart failure after atrial fibrillation being twice as high as the risk of stroke. The study, conducted in Denmark, analyzed national data for 3.5 million adults and found that the lifetime risk of atrial fibrillation increased over the past two decades. The researchers emphasized the need for preventive strategies to decrease the risks of both heart failure and stroke for people with atrial fibrillation.
