COVID-19 Pandemic no longer considered a global emergency by WHO.

While the pandemic is not over, WHO officials noted that the emergency phase was over, and new variants could still emerge. The pandemic has caused an estimated 764 million cases globally and about 5 billion people have received at least one dose of vaccine. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned that the real COVID-19 death toll was estimated to be at least 20 million.
