The US Army has selected General Dynamics Land Systems and American Rheinmetall Vehicles to produce a final round of prototypes for the XM30 Mechanized Infantry Combat Vehicle, which will replace the M2 Bradley Fighting Vehicle as the primary armored troop carrier. The XM30 will carry six soldiers and two crew, and feature a newly designed 50mm chain gun mounted on a turret that can be operated remotely. The vehicle is due to arrive at operational units in 2029.

The US Army has selected General Dynamics and American Rheinmetall to compete for a potential $45 billion contract to replace the Bradley fighting vehicle.
