Hallucinations as a Predictor of Rapid Cognitive Decline in Parkinson's Disease
Minor hallucinations in people with Parkinson's disease may indicate a faster cognitive decline, according to a recent study. The presence of these hallucinations was also associated with decreased electrical activity in the frontal lobe, which controls cognition. Early detection of these symptoms could lead to improved management and personalized therapies for Parkinson's patients to slow the progression of cognitive decline and dementia.
