A groundbreaking discovery in Alberta's Dinosaur Provincial Park has revealed Canada's first dinosaur-era dragonfly fossil, filling a 30-million-year gap in dragonfly evolution and providing new insights into the ecosystem of the time. The fossil, named Cordualadensa acorni, is the first known from Canada's dinosaur-aged rocks and suggests that ancient dragonflies were adapted for gliding and possibly migratory, expanding our understanding of insect diversity during the Cretaceous period.
