Kennedy Jr. has repeatedly downplayed the severity of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, suggesting that the response was exaggerated and that the Biden administration poses a greater threat to democracy. He has also expressed willingness to consider pardoning Jan. 6 rioters if elected president and has been criticized for spreading misinformation about vaccines and Covid.
