Artemis II Countdown Goes On as 80% Go Weather Sparks Launch Preparations

Artemis II’s countdown is officially underway at Kennedy Space Center as NASA powers up the SLS and Orion, runs through fueling and life-support checks, and monitors weather conditions with an 80% chance of favorable conditions for Wednesday’s liftoff. The four-astronaut crew — Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen — remains in quarantine for final medical checks, while Space Force weather officials track clouds, winds and solar activity to keep the mission on track for a 10-day test flight around and beyond the Moon.
