Thales Alenia Space and the Italian Space Agency (ASI) are collaborating on the development of the Multi-Purpose Habitat (MPH), a crucial component of NASA's Artemis program that aims to establish a sustainable human presence on the Moon. The MPH could potentially become the first permanent lunar base, with a cylindrical design and telescopic legs. The module is expected to be deployed on the lunar surface in the 2030s and will serve as a hub for scientific research, technology testing, and exploration missions. Thales Alenia Space is also involved in the development of pressurized modules for the Lunar Gateway space station.
