Researchers have discovered a missing link in the evolution of dinosaurs, shedding light on how they became giants. Analysis of a 225-million-year-old dinosaur specimen found in Brazil revealed the presence of bone cavities called air sacs, which allowed dinosaurs to capture more oxygen, regulate body temperature, and thrive in harsh conditions. The discovery challenges the linear evolution theory of air sacs and suggests that different experiments were conducted until the definitive system of air sacs running from the cervical region to the tail was established.
