Planetary Parade Marks Jupiter's Departure: Night Sky Update

This week, Jupiter will disappear from the post-sunset night sky and appear close to Mercury in the western sky just after sunset. Venus will also be close to both planets, with Mars high above. On Thursday, Venus and Uranus will have a conjunction. The Big Dipper is the asterism of the week, and the Whirlpool galaxy is the object of the week.
