Iceland's Volcanic Eruption: Weakening but Still Captivating

The volcanic eruption in southwest Iceland is weakening, with three vents currently erupting compared to the previous five. The Icelandic Met Office warns that while the eruption continues to weaken, new vents could open at short notice along the original fracture or further north or south. There are concerns about potential damage to houses, but no injuries have been reported. Pollution from the volcano has not reached the capital, Reykjavik, and flight disruptions are not expected to be as severe as in 2010. People have been advised to stay away from the area.

The depression is forecast to move to the South towards Cuba and become a remnant low by Saturday.
