Tropical Depression 2 brings heavy rain and potential for weak tropical storm in Gulf of Mexico and South Florida.
Tropical Depression 2 has formed in the Northeast Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Florida, but there are no watches or warnings in effect for this system. The depression is dealing with dry air and wind shear, which are not conducive for development, and it is expected to weaken Friday as it meanders over the Gulf of Mexico. The depression is forecast to move to the South towards Cuba and become a remnant low by Saturday.
