"Turning Fish into Underwater Spies: The Smart Vest Revealing Aquatic Secrets"

A research team has developed a groundbreaking "smart vest" for fish, equipped with advanced MXene hydrogel and pseudocapacitive pressure-sensing units, to capture disturbances in water flow caused by fish movements. This innovative technology provides unprecedented insights into fish behavior and ecological interactions, transcending the limitations of traditional observation methods and offering far-reaching implications for environmental conservation and aquatic ecosystem studies.

"Florida Man Claims Underwater Discovery of Fountain of Youth"

Retired Navy diver Joseph Dituri claims that spending 100 days underwater at Jules’ Undersea Lodge in Key Largo reversed the age of his DNA, making his cells younger and increasing his telomere length. He also experienced an increase in stem cells, reduced pain, and a 50% decrease in inflammatory markers. Dituri attributes these health benefits to the hyperbaric environment underwater, which has been used for centuries and is currently being explored for treating cognitive issues, brain injuries, and PTSD. However, this treatment requires a doctor's prescription and can be costly.

Florida's 'Dr. Deep Sea' breaks record with 100-day underwater stay

Joseph Dituri, a biomedical engineer and retired US naval officer, has emerged from Jules’s Undersea Lodge in Florida Keys after spending 100 days living and researching underwater. Dubbed “Dr Deep Sea”, Dituri beat his own Guinness World Record for the longest time living in an underwater fixed habitat. He was part of Project Neptune 100, which combines research and ocean conservation outreach. Dituri’s hypothesis was that increased pressure has the potential to help humans live longer and prevent ageing-related diseases. His findings will be presented at the World Extreme Medicine Conference in Scotland in November.
