Power Outages Plague Wisconsin as Severe Storms Sweep Through

Tens of thousands of people in southern Wisconsin were left without power as severe storms, including strong winds, heavy rain, and hail, swept through the state. Air Quality Concerns Lead to Cancellations and Closures in Wisconsin and Indiana

Due to "unhealthy" to "very unhealthy" air quality conditions in southern Wisconsin caused by smoke from Canada, numerous events and activities have been canceled or rescheduled. The cancellations include concerts, sports games, swimming lessons, and outdoor programs. Some locations have closed their pools, while others have moved activities indoors. The air quality advisory is in effect until Thursday at noon.

Midwest Braces for Severe Thunderstorms and Tornadoes.

First Warn weather ALERT DAYS are in effect for southern Wisconsin due to a strong spring storm system bringing severe thunderstorms overnight and into Wednesday morning, with heavy rain, hail, high winds, and a possible isolated tornado. After the cold front passes Wednesday morning, sustained winds of 20 to 35 MPH with gusts up to 45 MPH or stronger are expected.
