Severe weather threatens South Plains and Western Texas.

The National Weather Service in Lubbock issued severe thunderstorm warnings, tornado warnings, and flash flood warnings for parts of eastern New Mexico and the South Plains. The entire area was placed under a Tornado Watch until 8:00 p.m. and a flood watch was issued until midnight. The risk of flash flooding was increasing, according to the NWS.
