"Space Shuttle Endeavour's Rocket Motors Soar Again at California Science Center"

The California Science Center has erected two solid rocket motors from the Space Shuttle Endeavour, which are now on display in the new exhibit at the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center. The $400 million project will double the science center's educational exhibit space and includes 100 authentic artifacts, such as the Space Hab and the Endeavour itself. The motors, which provide 80% of the power to launch the shuttle into orbit, are 116 feet tall and weigh over 100,000 pounds each. The tank and orbiter will be added in January.

"LA Welcomes Reunion of Endeavour with 52-Ton Space Shuttle Rocket Motors"

Two large Solid Rocket Motors, major components of the twin Solid Rocket Boosters used to propel space shuttles into space, will be delivered to the California Science Center for the vertical display of the space shuttle Endeavour. The motors, donated by Northrop Grumman, will travel from the Mojave Air and Space Port to the Science Center, where they will be placed in temporary storage before being positioned in the upright display. The arrival of the motors marks a significant step towards the completion of the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center, which will serve as a launchpad for creativity and innovation. The public is invited to witness the arrival of the motors on Wednesday.

Anduril expands defense capabilities with acquisition of rocket motor manufacturer.

Anduril Industries has acquired Adranos, a solid rocket manufacturer, to strengthen its position in the hypersonic and missile market. The acquisition will allow Anduril to supply solid rocket motors to companies that make hypersonic weapons, missiles, and other propulsion systems. Adranos is known for creating a solid rocket fuel called ALITEC, made of an aluminum-lithium alloy, which can produce up to 40% more range in solid rocket motors than other fuels at lower cost. Anduril plans to develop Adranos' production facility in Mississippi into a modern manufacturing facility to produce thousands of solid rocket motors per year.

Anduril's Acquisition of Adranos Signals Silicon Valley's Move into Missile Motors.

Anduril Industries has acquired Adranos, a manufacturer of solid rocket motors, to become a merchant supplier of solid rocket motors to prime contractors delivering missiles, hypersonics, and other propulsion systems for the Department of Defense's most important programs. Adranos invented a proprietary aluminum-lithium alloy fuel called ALITEC to power solid rocket motors used in tactical missiles and space launch vehicles. The acquisition will help Anduril become a competitor in the solid rocket motor industry, which is facing heavy consolidation, and increase production rates at Adranos's solid rocket complex production facility in Mississippi.
