The suspect wanted for attempted murder and vehicle theft in Seaside, Oregon has been identified as 18-year-old Isaiah J. Thompson, who also has ties to Portland. Thompson allegedly stole a Ford Mustang and assaulted the owner before leading police on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash in Washington County. He fled the scene on foot, and authorities are conducting a search with the assistance of drones and police dogs. Thompson is also accused of stealing a Toyota Corolla in Multnomah County in April.

New research led by Sandra Geiger from the Environmental Psychology Group at the University of Vienna confirms that living near or visiting the seaside is associated with better health regardless of country or personal income. The study surveyed over 15,000 participants across 15 countries and found that everyone seems to benefit from being near the seaside, not just the wealthy. The substantial health benefits of equal and sustainable access to coasts should be considered when countries develop their marine spatial plans, consider future housing needs, and develop public transportation links.
