Measles Alert: Possible Exposure at San Leandro Restaurant Spurs Health Warning
Alameda County health officials issued a warning after potential measles exposure at Sons of Liberty Alehouse in San Leandro on March 9 from 4:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. They advise individuals who were present during that time, especially those who are unvaccinated, pregnant, immunocompromised, or infants, to monitor for symptoms and contact their healthcare provider. Measles symptoms can appear within 7 to 21 days after exposure and include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a rash. Measles is highly contagious, and one infected person can transmit the virus to nine out of 10 unvaccinated individuals in close contact.
