Fatal Law Enforcement Shooting in San Leandro After High-Speed Chase and Struggle
A high-speed chase involving a stolen car in San Leandro ended in a deadly law enforcement shooting. After crashing near 163rd and Maulbert avenues, the three suspects fled the scene and got into a scuffle with California Highway Patrol officers. An Alameda County Sheriff's Department deputy arrived at the scene and witnessed one of the suspects attempting to disarm the CHP officer, resulting in shots being fired by both officers. One suspect died, while the CHP officer sustained no serious injuries.
