Meta Platforms Inc. is expected to face a record privacy fine from the EU for failing to comply with a court warning to protect consumers' data from U.S. security services. The Irish Data Protection Commission is also expected to order Meta to cease all data transfers to the U.S. that rely on supposedly unsafe contractual clauses. The fine is likely to exceed the previous record of €746 million ($807 million) imposed on Amazon.com Inc.
