Chipotle is closing down its pizza chain, Pizzeria Locale, which it had invested in to expand operations. All five locations in the Denver area will be shuttered, and affected employees will be offered jobs at nearby Chipotle locations. Chipotle has chosen to focus on its core burrito business and its new restaurant concept, Farmesa, while its previous ventures into Southeast Asian cuisine with ShopHouse and burgers with Tasty Made have also closed down.

Pizzeria Locale shuts down all Denver locations, dissolves business

Pizzeria Locale, a fast-casual build-your-own style pizza chain in the Denver metro area, will be closing all five of its locations on July 10 and dissolving the business. The parent company, Chipotle Mexican Grill, has offered impacted employees the opportunity to work at Chipotle restaurants in the Denver area. The closures come after the recent closure of Pizzeria Locale's Boulder location in December.
