Calciphylaxis is a chronic condition resulting from a build-up of calcium and phosphate in the body's small arteries, with no known cure.

Cardiac arrest survivors, including author Mary Curran Hackett, are sharing their intense and similar experiences of being clinically dead. Hackett recalls her own out-of-body experience during a cardiac arrest in 2004, where she felt calm and tapped into everything happening around her. She believes there are unanswered questions about this moment and is collaborating with Dr. Sam Parnia on a study of cardiac arrest survivors, which will be compiled in an upcoming book called "Lucid Dying." The book aims to explore what happens to us when we die.
