A team of medical professionals from Steamboat Springs traveled to Da Nang, Vietnam on a medical mission trip, performing life-changing hand surgeries and providing rehabilitation and medical training in underserved communities. The trip was emotionally rewarding but also highlighted the stark differences in medical resources and equipment between the two countries, prompting the team to think creatively and adapt to limited conditions. Despite only being able to perform surgeries on about half of the potential patients, the team hopes to return for a follow-up mission trip next year.
