A missionary from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has died in the Philippines after being hospitalized with an undetermined medical illness.
A new study from the University of Ottawa found that engaging in an exercise program reduced suicidal thoughts and actions in patients with mental and physical health problems who previously had suicidal ideations. The study debunked the misconception that patients suffering from mental or physical illness are not motivated to participate in a physical exercise regime, which has similar efficacy to antidepressants and cognitive behavioural therapy in the treatment of depression. The findings suggest that exercise should be prescribed to patients with mental or physical illness to improve their mental and physical health.
