Leidos Secures $7.9B Army Contract for IT Support and Hardware

Leidos has secured a contract worth up to $7.9 billion to provide the US Army with information technology equipment, including servers and workstations. The Common Hardware Systems 6th Generation contract allows for the procurement of commercial off-the-shelf products for the Army and other organizations. Leidos plans to utilize its Intelligent Logistics Platform to ensure rapid fulfillment and resilience in the supply chain. The contract could run for a decade, and Leidos is expected to acquire between 75,000 to 100,000 pieces of hardware annually.

NASCAR partners with Leidos for lunar rover project.

Leidos has partnered with NASCAR to develop a Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV) that can accommodate two astronauts for excursions on the lunar surface starting with the Artemis 5 mission in the late 2020s. Leidos executives said they chose to partner with NASCAR on the LTV design for technical and business reasons. The team working on the LTV design includes companies with both automotive and aerospace experience. NASA expects to issue a final request for proposal for LTV no later than May 26, with a contract award anticipated in late November.
