The Pentagon is investigating the downing of a US MQ-9 Reaper drone off the coast of Yemen, with Iranian-backed Houthi militants claiming responsibility. This marks the second time the group has shot down an American drone, escalating tensions between the US and Iran-backed groups in Yemen, Iraq, and Syria. The US has struck Houthi military targets in response, accusing Iran of supplying the group, although acknowledging Tehran's lack of direct control over them.
