Def Leppard Drummer Rick Allen Assaulted Outside Florida Hotel

Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen was attacked and injured outside a hotel in Fort Lauderdale Beach by a 19-year-old from Greater Cleveland who was arrested and charged with two counts of battery, four counts of criminal mischief, and abusing an elderly or disabled adult. Allen fell and hit his head on the ground causing injury, while a woman who tried to help him was also attacked. Allen, who lost his left arm in an automobile accident in 1984, provided a sworn statement to police and wants to prosecute.
