Spain Joins South Africa's Genocide Case Against Israel at ICJ
Spain announced it will join South Africa's case at the International Court of Justice accusing Israel of violating the Genocide Convention in its military operations in Gaza. Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares cited the ongoing conflict and regional concerns as reasons for the decision, emphasizing Spain's commitment to international law and the two-state solution. The case, which also involves countries like Colombia, Egypt, and Turkey, could take years for the ICJ to rule on, and while its decisions are binding, they are not enforceable.
